Soap-lovers rejoiced as the UK’s hottest TV stars graced the red carpet once again for the National Television Awards. If you haven’t yet seen the snaps then prepare yourself for extreme cleavage and plenty of sparkle…
Here is our lowdown on the most-papped hairstyles from the NTA’s 2016…
Mich rarely disappoints when it comes to style, and she certainly soaked up plenty of limelight on the red carpet in her cut-out-back drape dress and bouffant bun combo. Always elegant but a little edgy, we think that she did herself, and hubby Mark proud.
Her 60’s inspired hairstyle was one of our favourites on the night; it’s super versatile and could be adapted for a wedding, night out or glitzy event. Discover how to recreate this look with our how-to video guide here…
Whilst Jorgie and her revealing, glitter gown may have made it onto a couple of the tabloid paper’s ‘worst dressed lists’ (personally, we think she looks pretty cool), her hairstyle definitely stole the show – it was by far the most avant-garde style of the night.
The trick to achieving this look is having the right products – you want to ensure that your hair is totally frizz-free and the lengths are truly tamed. It’s definitely time to invest in some good quality hair oil (why not try our Serum Hair Fluid), and some irons (we often use Cloud Nine’s Original Irons at 180°C.)
Nikki looked undeniably fierce when she strutted her stuff on that red carpet. Her off-the-shoulder gown and Hollywood waves complemented each other perfectly. Thumbs up all round!
To achieve her vintage-inspired waves you will need a conical waving wand, a dressing brush (try our Large Paddle Brush) and plenty of hairspray! Start on one side of your head and take vertical sections, mist with your hairspray (ideally one that has heat protection too) and wrap the hair forward around the wand – with the wand pointing down. Repeat this process moving around your entire head, and then brush through. Ta Da!
Whilst we’re not sure about her very simple black dress, we do rather like Katie’s catwalk-inspired top knot – it’s fun and fearless and works well with a high neck.
Queen of the LOB, Caroline Flack worked a more casual but still very cool style for NTA’s. Her tresses we dressed in tousled waves, which worked well with her structured dress.
If you would love to rock a lob, but currently don’t have sufficient length then don’t despair – it is easy to achieve extra length and volume with Great Lengths hair enhancements. Take a look at our ‘growing out a pixie’ blog for more info on what can be achieved.
We’re hoping that Holly has now made it home… she was rumoured to have spent the night at Ant’s house (of Ant and Dec) with This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield. Either way, with another NTA award under her arm and a red carpet appearance to be proud of, we reckon Holly deserved a heavy night of celebrating.
Having recently braved the chop, Holly wore her new shoulder-skimming tresses in very loose waves – an effortlessly elegant style.
