The Oscars- Classic Pin Curl Wave

The red carpet has been rolled out and once again Hollywood’s finest celebrities descended upon the Oscars on Sunday 26th February 2017.

Great Lengths’ Education and Creative Manager, Louise Jenkins, explains this year’s most glamorous red carpet trend – The Classic Pin Curl Wave.

Louise states “Emma Stone’s simple soft marcel wave shone through as effortless glamour on this year’s red carpet! Her classic strawberry blonde mid length hair had been set into a classic Pin Curl wave with a deep-set parting. The root of her hair was kept super smooth, with one side swept behind her ear to emphasise her strong cheekbone.”

Other Hollywood celebrities to style this trend were, Karlie Kloss, Amy Adams and Emma Roberts.

To create the perfect look, Louise recommends using Great Lengths Extensions through the width of the head, allowing for extra density to the hair. Using Great Lengths ensures the hair is looking fuller and more volumised, making your effortless curls last longer!

Follow these easy steps below to recreate the Oscar’s Classic Pin Curl Wave.

Step 1) Create this look by using a small curling tong (ideally around 24-28mm) ensuring you curl in the same direction with each section of hair.

Step 2) Pin each curl to allow it to set whilst cooling.  Continue to work up the head taking horizontal sections.

Step 3) Once all the hair has been curled use a soft bristle brush and brush from the root to tip of the hair.  Use your hands to smooth and define the hair as it falls into a wave. Finish using hairspray to hold.
